4 Common Laundry Mistakes

Have you read your washing machine’s manual?  Don’t feel bad – many people haven’t.  You’ve been doing laundry for so long, you know what to do, right?

Well, although you’ve done many loads of laundry, you may have some bad habits that are preventing your washing machine from getting your clothing completely clean.

Here are 4 common laundry mistakes to avoid to get your clothes the cleanest so you can look your best:

  1. Overloading the Machine:  This common mistake leads to poor cleaning perfomance, more wrinkles, and excessive wear on garments.  Dirt and soil from garments can become redeposited in others, dulling vibrant colors and giving dingy look to whites.
  2. Poor sorting of loads:  This can cause problems with dyes bleeding into other garments.
  3. Too Low Water Temperature:  Detergents are more active in higher temperatures and will get your clothes cleaner.
  4. Not Sorting Drying Loads and Overloading the Dryer:  It takes longer to dry and lightweight or delicate fabrics get over-dried, resulting in permanant wrinkles in heat sensitive fabrics.
